Аннотация: Работа является первым полным переводом на русский язык трактата «О гимнастике» греческого автора III в. н. э. Филострата. Это единственный сохранившийся античный трактат, посвященный атлетике. Основной упор в памятнике сделан на искусстве тренировки атлетов, рассматриваемой как научная дисциплина. Перевод сопровождается подробным комментарием.

Philostratus. "Gymnastics"
(Translation from ancient Greek and commentary by I.P. Rushkin)

Abstract: We present the first complete Russian translation of "Gymnasticus" – a text by a Greek author Philostratus from the 3rd century AD. This is the only extant ancient treatise devoted to athletics. The main focus of the treatise is on athletic training as a scientific discipline. The translation is accompanied by a detailed commentary.
