Немецкие антиковеды из университета в Галле и их российские коллеги: к 80-летию Андреаса Меля и 70-летию Кристиана Милеты

Аннотация: Статья посвящена юбилеям двух видных немецких антиковедов – Андреаса Меля и Кристиана Милеты, но ее тематика является более широкой; помимо основных этапов их научных биографий рассматривается и роль кафедры древней истории университета в Галле-Виттенберге, на которой они работали, в развитии сотрудничества немецких и российских антиковедов, приезжавших с 2003 г. на стажировки в Галле. Это стало возможным благодаря личной инициативе проф. А. Меля, возглавлявшего кафедру с 1992 по 2011 гг. Важным свидетельством данного сотрудничества стала публикация в 2013 г. под ред. А. Меля, А.В. Махлаюка и О.Л. Габелко сборника «Ruthenia classica aetatis novae». Также в статье рассматриваются отношения как профессиональные, так и личные, немецких и российских ученых, встречавшихся в Галле в настоящее время.

German Historians of Classical Antiquity from the University of Halle and their Russian Colleagues: On the 80th Anniversary of Andreas Mehl and the 70th Anniversary of Christian Mileta

Abstract: The article is focused on the anniversaries of two prominent German classical scholars, Andreas Mehl and Christian Mileta, but its subject matter is broader, since in addition to the main stages of their scientific and academic careers, it also examines the role of the Chair of Ancient History at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, where they worked, in developing of both scientific cooperation and friendly relations between German and Russian classical scholars who have made visits in Halle since 2003 as the guests of the Chair. This became possible thanks to the personal initiative of Prof. A. Mehl, who headed the Chair from 1992 to 2011. The most striking expression of that cooperation was the volume «Ruthenia classica aetatis novae» with the contributions on the Greek and Roman history by a number of Russian classical scholars edited by A. Mehl, A.V. Makhlayuk, and O.L. Gabelko and published in English in 2013. Also the current state of relationships, both scientific and personal, between German and Russians scholars who met at Halle are discussed.
